FAQs

What is menopausal hormone replacement therapy?

Menopause hormone therapy (MHT) is the use of estrogen, progesterone, and/or testosterone to supplement or replace the body’s naturally occurring sex hormones. These hormones naturally start to decline in our 30s-40’s and continue to decline into our 70’s. MHT is used to treat symptoms of perimenopause and menopause (hot flashes, sleep problems, low energy, anxiety, depression, sexual dysfunction, etc). It is also used to support health (gut and metabolic health, mental health, muscle mass, bone health, etc.) and help prevent chronic diseases such as genitourinary syndrome of menopause, dementia, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis.

Who can benefit from MHT/HRT?

Women with premature ovarian insufficiency, surgical menopause, or early menopause.

Women in the perimenopause transition.

Women in menopause/ within 10 years post-menopause.
